One of the best reasons to belong to a credit union is the fact that we are not-for-profit. We are always looking for ways to give back to our membership and our communities with any profits that are earned.

Here are some recent ways we have given back:

WCU Hosts the Find A Job in Vegas Job Fair!

1/4/2012

WestStar CU is serious about giving back to our community. We know that Las Vegans are looking to get back to work, so we organized and hosted the "Find A Job in Vegas" Job Fair.

Held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino on 1/4/2012 from 11am to 3pm, this job fair far exceeded our expectations! The employers in attendance had collectively over 3,000 positions open and we estimate that over 7,000 job seekers showed up. We had to send people away in order to ensure that those in line would be able to meet with the potential employers.

Check out our Facebook page for more details and links to local news clips. Like us to stay updated on everything WestStar!

The first job seeker got in line before 5am! Love the enthusiasm!

Cheyenne’s Magical School Bus Tours started 3 years ago a few months after Cheyenne passed away as the result of a tragic accident. She was five years old. Cheyenne absolutely loved the Magical Forest and thought every child should enjoy the delights of the Magical Forest with its 200 decorated Christmas trees, the Forest Express and the Enchanted carousel and of course Santa!

It has been a highly successful program through the kindness of many wonderful folks and WCU is proud to be able to participate.

12/18/2011

This season, our employees were able to raise enough money to adopt multiple families in need for Christmas via the Help of Southern Nevada's Adopt-A-Family program. The generosity of the staff made the executives and our CEO so proud that they made personal donations and adopted families of their own!

The season of giving rings true with the employees of WCU.
