Hey Smarty Pants! You’re heading off to college this fall? Woohoo!
You’ve worked so hard through your school years, balancing your education, activities, family, and friends. You’ve maintained a strong grade point average and have grown into quite the young adult! Now is your chance to cash in on your hard work. We want to recognize outstanding Nevada students for their academic achievements and community involvement with $10,000 in scholarships!
Three (3) academic scholarships will be considered for needs based students, and are $2000 each. Four (4) other academic scholarships will be awarded at $1000 each.
The Smart Money Scholarships program is designed for WestStar Credit Union members and their children graduating from an accredited high school within the State of Nevada in 2018.
Scholarship applications are open now, and all application and supporting documentation are due no later than July 31st, 2018.
Upon submission of a brief application, you will receive an email from email@example.com with further instructions for submitting the items below which will be the basis for application judging and selection.

Applicant (or parent) must be a current WestStar Credit Union member in good standing, must be graduating from an accredited high school within the State of Nevada in 2018, must have applied to an accredited post-secondary school with a program culminating in an associate or baccalaureate degree, and must have a minimum overall cumulative (unweighted - possible 4.0) grade point average (GPA) of 3.50.
Needs based applicants must meet the above criteria and either a combined household income below $60,000 (must include 2017 Income Tax Return), and/or recently encountered a catastrophic situation.
WestStar Credit Union associates, officials, volunteers, and members of their immediate family are not eligible for these scholarships.
